Gameplay Mechanics Preview

The core game loop, as revealed by ConcernedApe: gather ingredients, make chocolate, and run a haunted shop — with a heavier action-RPG combat focus than Stardew Valley.

01
Expeditions
Ingredient Gathering

Venture into wilderness biomes and snow-covered forests to fight monsters and harvest cocoa, berries, and ghost essence for your confections.

02
Crafting
Chocolate Confections

Process ingredients inside your haunted-castle kitchen using various recipes — an “intuitive” path and a more conventional, mechanical path — to create luxury chocolates and specialty sweets.

03
Shopkeeping
Haunted Shop Management

Set up displays, price your confections, and employ friendly ghost staff to run the shop floor while you befriend townspeople and pursue relationships.

Combat

Combat is a bigger focus than in Stardew Valley. A shield lets you block attacks to stun enemies and open a counter-window; bows and other off-hand items complement different play styles. Boss encounters (e.g. a giant bee) are confirmed.

Expeditions & Gathering

Venture into snow-covered forests and mysterious biomes to harvest cocoa, berries and ghost essence — the rare ingredients that power your chocolate-making. Wilderness runs are also where most combat encounters happen, so pack a shield before heading out.
